Over the past 25 years, Judge Richard Winegarden has built a reputation as a fair judge who works to keep our community safe from criminals. He has presided over more than 55,000 cases as a State and Superior Court Judge, including many of the highest profile cases in Gwinnett. Judge Winegarden, a former prosecutor, is the only judge to ever receive an award from the Gwinnett Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD). Richard’s involvement in our Gwinnett County community runs deep. Judge Winegarden has served as President and Chairman of the Gwinnett County chapter of the American Cancer Society, is a member of the Rotary Club of South Gwinnett. He has served as president of his homeowners association, and is a graduate of Leadership Gwinnett and Leadership Atlanta. Judge Winegarden is married, has three children, and attends the 12Stone Church in Lawrenceville.
